If you don’t measure sleep you never know how you progressed.
I’m a firm believer in deliberate practice if you ever get a chance please read Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise by Anders Ericsson It’s a phenomenal book on the subject of deliberate practice. Deliberate practice is essentially the act of trying to improve one’s results through measured and focused practice in an attempt to improve on previous result. The tool I use most to measure my sleep results is my Fitbit. Every morning, one of the first things I do is check my sleep from the night before.
With that information I can make micro adjustments to anything from my diet to screen time to what sleep aides I used or what time I went to bed. There are plenty of different sleep trackers Fitbit is just the one I use most. I’ll make a list below of others. I strongly recommend starting with a sleep tracker than we can make progress from there.
